Applications of the soil hand auger

 
The soil hand auger is a device for collecting samples from the topsoil. Depending on the desired sampling depth, a sampler with the appropriate working length should be selected. This allows you to obtain samples from a depth of 20 or 40 cm.

A special “claw” is included in the kit – an element used to remove soil from the tool and clean it. It has a finger guard for increased safety and comfort of use.

This device is designed for accurate, quick, and safe sampling.

The 31 mm diameter auger allows for collecting more material than standard 21 mm diameter samplers. This means faster work and a more representative sample.

The device is suitable for testing, among other things:

• soil NPK content,
• acidity (pH),
• organic matter content,
• structure, and fertility.

Sampling instructions

1. Place the device into the soil up to a depth of 20 cm.
2. Turn it around its axis to retain the soil in the auger.
3. Remove the sampler and transfer the contents to the sample container.
4. Clean the device with the cleaning claw.

How to care for the soil auger after use?

After each use, we recommend rinsing the soil auger under running water, removing any residue with a cleaning claw, and drying it.

Can it be used to collect samples from deeper than 20 cm?

No. This model has a fixed working depth of 20 cm. If you need a deeper device, you can find other soil samplers in our store with depths of 30, 40, 60, and 90 cm.

Does the soil auger require maintenance or lubrication?

No. AISI 304 acid-resistant steel requires no lubrication or special maintenance – simply keep it clean.
