Soldering

Soldering is a process of joining metals using solder, which, due to its low melting point, is used to create a permanent connection. At Marxam Project, we offer the highest quality soldering services, thanks to which you can be sure of the durability of the final product. Contact us today and experience cooperation with true professionals.

welding services

A welder is a person whose task is to join together metal, steel, cast iron and aluminum elements using the permanent connection method. A very important aspect in the welder’s work are manual skills, high patience and self-discipline during the welding process.

This is one of the most difficult and, until recently, the least appreciated professions. Not everyone can become a welder. Very often, and rightly so, welding is compared to artistic work. In addition to high manual skills, you need to have a very broad technical knowledge about the types of materials, the behavior of different types of elements and the behavior of the material in high temperature environments.

What is soldering and what does it involve?

Soldering is a process of melting a low-melting filler metal (also called solder) and applying it to metal elements, thus creating an inseparable connection. This process is most often used for processing electrical parts and cables – soft soldering is used then. It is also possible to process sheets, pipes and other metal elements, but then hard soldering is used.

The soldering process involves melting the solder with heat from iron. The main difference between soldering and welding is that the temperature used in welding is higher, which also melts the edges, which does not occur in soldering.

Soldering service options at Marxam Project – types of soldering

Soldering services at Marxam Project are an extensive processes that allows us to process a number of different metal materials – structural steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, as well as electrical.

As part of this service, we serve a wide range of different industries. These include, among others, the automotive, food, electronics, construction and many more. We always adapt our activities to the specific industry in which the final product will be used, to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

There are 2 types of soldering services:

  • Soft soldering – This is a type of soldering where a filler metal with a melting temperature of less than 450°C is used – e.g. tin or bismuth. It is most often used to connect various types of electrical. This creates a less durable connection, which is therefore not suitable for structural elements, e.g. connectors.
  • Hard soldering – This method uses a filler metal with a melting point of higher than 450°C – e.g. silver or copper. It requires specialist tools and is used for metalworking, such as connecting pipes or sheets. The joints created are more durable.

Services offered as part of soldering

As part of soldering at Marxam Project, we provide the following services:

  • PCB assembly - Using soft soldering, we produce both through-hole and surface-mounted components.
  • Cable and wire soldering - For the electrical industry (and beyond), we provide comprehensive soldering of various types of parts, such as cables or wires.
  • Desoldering - Removal of soldered elements.
  • Pipe and sheet soldering - Using hard soldering, we are excellent at processing metal elements, such as pipes or sheets.
  • Spot soldering - A high-precision process, performed manually by our experienced experts.
  • Reflow soldering - A technique in which we heat the entire system until the solder melts and an inseparable connection is created.

Frequently Asked Questions

The soldering process involves melting a filler metal (also called solder) with a lower melting point than the material being processed and using it to create a permanent connection.

At Marxam Project, we offer soft and hard soldering. In addition, we also offer spot soldering, reflow, and even desoldering.

Yes, if our client is not sure about the details of their project, our experienced technologists will be happy to help them choose and design prototypes of the final product.

The solder used will depend on the workpiece and therefore on the specific method (soft or hard soldering). As a rule, in the case of soft soldering we use solder made of tin, while in hard soldering – of copper.

Our wide range of services includes many different metalworking services, from laser cutting and sheet metal bending, through TIG welding and riveting, to finishing and assembly. With us, you can be sure that you will get everything done in one place.
